About Becky

Becky Munsterer Sabky likes to communicate. She’s an author, columnist, speaker (and handwritten letter writer). Her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Boston Globe Magazine, Reader’s Digest and SKI Magazine. She’s been interviewed on Vermont Public Radio and Boston Public Radio, and is currently on a speaking tour for her book “Valedictorians at the Gate.” In 2006, she won ISLANDS magazine’s national travel writing essay contest for her entry “Running with Whales.” In 2016, she won third place from the Society of Newspaper Columnists for her Valley News column, “The Trendiness of Backyard Chickens.” She’s a graduate of Colby College and received her M.A.L.S. degree in creative writing from Dartmouth.

In her spare time, she “cooks” (spreads cheese on Triscuits) for her husband, picks up her toddlers’ crayons, and metal detects her own yard in search of invaluable treasure. (She’s yet to find anything but a retro Mountain Dew can.)
