About Becky

Becky Munsterer Sabky is an author, speaker, columnist, and handwritten letter writer. As a former director of international admissions at Dartmouth College, she’s the author of the non-fiction book “Valedictorians at the Gate” (Macmillan ’19) and the New York Times viral op-ed “Check This Box If You’re a Good Person.” An avid skier, she’s also the creator and author of the children’s book series, “The Little Rippers.” Her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Boston Globe Magazine, Reader’s Digest and SKI Magazine. She’s been interviewed on Vermont Public Radio and Boston Public Radio, and speaks regularly to high school audiences about the college admissions process.  In 2006, she won ISLANDS magazine’s national travel writing essay contest for her entry “Running with Whales,” and in 2016, she won third place from the Society of Newspaper Columnists for her Valley News column, “The Trendiness of Backyard Chickens.” She’s a 2001 graduate of Colby College and received her M.A.L.S. degree in creative writing in 2004 from Dartmouth College.

Becky lives in Vermont with her husband, her two young children, and a spoiled dog.
